MDE Congratulates Paco Nevarez

On the winter 07 edition of the Aspen Magazine, the title in the front page was "A, the best of Aspen". Our friend Francisco was honored as one of the members of the "A list". The note says:
"These are not the people who snap and get a table at Aspen's most crowded restaurants, these are people who makes Aspen Special, in one way or another. They are the true superstars of our little world"
Francisco Nevarez
Director, Ballet Folklorico
Aspen/Santa Fe Ballet
Because the after school program he directs reaches 100 kids from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, and teaches culture, arts and crafts, an music along with traditional dances of Mexico. Because he left profesional Instruction in Brooklyn and at Princeton to come to aour little valley to make a difference. Because he is more than an instructor or administrator; he is a father figure, a bus driver, a seamstress and a tireles liason between the latino comunity and the educational system. Because the smiles on the faces of Ballet Folklorico dancers are as bright as their costumes, and our hearts leap with every step they take.
Congratulations!!!
