DANCE CHICAGO CELEBRATES 15th ANNIVERSARY SEASON WITH RENOWNED INTERNATIONAL AND AMERICAN PERFORMERS INCLUDING MEXICAN DANCE ENSEMBLE

CHICAGO, October 12, 2009 – Mexican Dance Ensemble has been chosen to join leading dance groups from around the world in performing in the rejuvenated and revamped Dance Chicago as it celebrates its 15th Anniversary season starting October 30th and running through December 12th at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Theatre Building Chicago, Sang Theatre at Wheeling High School and the Music Institute in Evanston.

During its 14 years as the unparalleled Chicago dance festival, Dance Chicago has showcased an array of dance styles ranging from hip-hop, ballet, tap, Latin, jazz and contemporary. Dance Chicago 2009 returns to offer audiences the best in dance and entertainment experience with new programs featuring world premieres and ticket specials for every discerning taste.

The 15th Anniversary festival will feature 130 companies and 13 unique and new seasonal programs adding to the most economical way to see some of the most visually appealing entertainment in Chicago.

More than 3,000 performers from some of Chicago’s best dance companies will share the three stages with top international companies and choreographers from around the world: The Dance Chicago Performance Schedule is:

Mexican Dance Ensemble is part of the Dance Chicago 15th Anniversary Spectacular, Dance for kids too! And Grand Finale programs and will perform its Fandango Jarocho –An adjusted piece for our Day of the Dead Celebration- on Saturday, October 31, 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Saturday December 12th at 8:00 pm. Hundreds of dance groups apply each year to perform during the month-long festival but only the very best dancers and companies are selected.
